The
very first website you should visit is WebMuseum. You
will be using this sight for your first assignment. It has a listing
of artists and their works which span most of the eras we will be looking
at. It also has brief discussions of the various historical epochs from
the gothic era to the twentieth century. This is a good introduction to
our section on the visual arts and you will be visiting here often.
Another
good sight for the visual arts component is ArtSource. As
its name implies, it is a terrific source for many of the websites devoted
to the visual arts. There is also an excellent glossary for words associated
with the arts to be found at Words
of Art. Make sure you at least take a look at their listings for the
termhermeneutics
and related words.
