You may either use the poem you already posted in the Agora or you
may choose another one for this assignment. After doing the Reading for
Unit Five and the Lecture Notes, write a paper identifying the metaphors
used in the poem you have chosen. These metaphors may be either literary
metaphors (like "My love is a like a red, red rose.") or you might try
to identify the ontological metaphors such as Life is a Journey, etc. You
might also pick up on visual metaphors, such as a description of an object
which clearly stands for something else.
This piece of writing must be formal--that is, whole sentences, grammatically
correct, and punctuated correctly. For more instructions on formal writing,
